So my grandfather is moving into a retirement home, okay?
It's not like a nursing home but more of a really nice apartment building for old people who can still get around by themselves. It's called Country Meadows, which sounds like such a typical name for an old folk's home, doesn't it? It's not even in the country and there are no meadows in sight...
But anyway, it's really funny there. It seems like when you get really old you're almost like a kid again because you don't want to do any work and you enjoy fun little activities. They have a lot of fun little activities there. I guess that explains the closet full of craft supplies I discovered?
So, some of the activities are so funny that I thought I'd share them with you. Just in case you were interested. Because I really don't want to be studying for my Bio test right now :) So at the Meadows, as I call it, they have frequent movie nights and trips to the supermarket or the mall. There's the occasional trip to the casino or a guest speaker or entertainer. They also have clubs like the Reminisce club where I guess they talk about the old days. And there's something called the Meadowlarks which I'm guessing is a choir. Somehow I doubt my grandpa will be joining that! Though I'm slightly tempted to...
Which reminds me I should be practicing my chromatic scales for my Honors Concert Choir audition on Friday...
Well that's all for now. Good luck with engaging in your respective talents!
